Teaching Kids to Have a Missionary Heart After seven years of preparing, testing, praying and waiting on God’s perfect timing, One Mission Society, through our One Mission Kids ministry, is excited to announce the launch of our first complete, missions-based VBS, Good News Reporters in Training (or GRITs, for short). For years, churches, camps, children’s leaders and parents have asked for a resource like this. It is one of the only mission-focused VBS programs available today. Please pass this information on to the person responsible for VBS in your world. Our GRITs VBS is unique for many reasons: 1. Interactive: The VAULT is our interactive, computerized interface that becomes the fourth character (with a British personality) in the VBS. The VAULT is projected and contains the Bible-based lessons, music, mission lessons, Bible verses and final exams. 2. Missions-based: Rather than simply add on a mission project (which is also included with prayer activities, lessons and more—we’re raising funds for Bibles for Africa), GRITs weaves mission concepts through every aspect of the VBS, including the games, snacks and crafts. 3. Spiritual meat: GRITs contains solid, spiritual meat for kids. After seven years of preparing, testing, praying and waiting on God’s perfect timing, One Mission Society, through our One Mission Kids ministry, is excited to announce the launch of our first complete, missions-based VBS, Good News Reporters in Training (or GRITs, for short).

For years, churches, camps, children’s leaders and parents have asked for a resource like this. It is one of the only mission-focused VBS programs available today. Please pass this information on to the person responsible for VBS in your world.

Our GRITs VBS is unique for many reasons:

The lessons are not Bible stories, but are Bible-based lessons that put mission concepts at kids’ levels, while challenging them to grow their missionary heart.

4. Field-tested: The VBS has been tested for more than seven years in churches and Christian camps with all ages. We suggest the program be used with K- 6th grade.

5. Complete: The entire VBS is contained on one CD-ROM. It’s like having an instant VBS at your fingertips. You simply need to print out the PDF files that you want to use.

6. Affordable: The complete VBS is sold for the price of a VBS sample kit at $139.99, yet it’s complete. It’s available at Amazon.

7. Prayer: The entire project has been covered in prayer. We want to continue this by including you/your church on our worldwide prayer network. If you let us know when you’re having your GRITs VBS, we will be praying.

Thanks for your prayers. We desire to motivate children to help fulfill the Great Commission through using this GRITs VBS program.

Please contact us if you have questions:info@onemissionsociety.org. One of the best ways to learn about our new VBS is to visit our OMK website: www.onemissionkids.org. Click on the GRITs logo, and you’ll find downloadable samples and a chance to meet the VAULT (the Virtual Access User Life Transformer) that makes our VBS one-of-a-kind.

John H. Schultz It is with great sorrow that we share of the passing of John Schultz, a great friend and co-worker. John passed into glory on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 while working at his home. He and wife Lois had just celebrated 47 years of marriage on June 12th. He will be sadly missed by all. John was a member and the current Pastor of Bethany E.C. Church in Barto, PA. He had been the Northeastern Representative for Men for Missions, the layman’s voice of OMS, since 1989 and had traveled to many countries on mission trips around the world. John had also worked for 32 years as a Technical Supervisor for Sears and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam. Our deepest condolences go out to Lois; his two sons, Jonathan D. Schultz and wife, Karin, of Zionsville; and Andrew H. Schultz and wife, Shannon of Philadelphia; his brother, three sisters, two brother-in-laws, and seven grandchildren.
