THE COAST
<> GUAYAQUIL – PRAY for the young people from SEMIRED Seminary as they
attend Mission Training Workshops – FEB 25 and MAR 3
<> CAMP PALLATANGA -

++ “GUARDIANS OF GOLD” Camp – for children ages 8-12 – MAR 5-9. PRAY
that all who attend will enjoy a Week of Learning and Fun.
++ Students at SEMIRED in Guayaquil will be facilitating this camp as part
of their “Missions Curriculum”. PRAY for spiritual growth of campers and
counselors.

THE SIERRA
<> QUITO – Family Bible Church
++ PRAY with the group, “Mothers United in Prayer” as they petition the
Lord for their families..
++ PRAY for a sister, who is going through a high-risk pregnancy, for a
brother who is receiving treatment for leukemia and a son who needs
treatment for his drug addiction..
++ PRAY for husbands – some need to stop drinking and others need to know
the Lord. PRAY that many will consecrate their lives to God and remain
firm in their Christian faith.
<> QUITO – North Hills Church (Colinas del Norte)
++ PRAY with Pastor Luis and the members as they seek to purchase land and
construct a church. There are some who are struggling with finances –
unemployment and low sales in business.
++ PRAY for God’s healing touch on individuals in the congregation and in
the community that are battling the effects of cancer, asthma, diabetes
and other physical afflictions..
++ PRAY for children of members who are struggling with alcohol and
dealing with unhappy marriages.
<> QUITO
++ PRAY for restored health for Luz, wife of Luis Merino at the Nazarene
Seminary , as she recovers from an illness.
++ Pray that the ECC staff would be able to define the principles of
“Train and Multiply”, understand its processes and communicate them
effectively. Pray for wisdom amd affirmation.
++ PRAY for the Samaritan’s Purse group distributing Operation Christmas
Child shoe boxes to children in surrounding villages. (For one member,
this is her first trip – follow her blog at – SouthernPlate.com )
++ Pastor Antonio Zabala has arrived safely home. He testified that after
serving for 33 years with missionaries from the USA, he was finally
blessed by God to see this country that he has heard so much about.
<> CUENCA – Voices of Hope – Prison Ministry
++ PRAY for the woman who has been released and is attending church (last
week with her husband who had previously deserted her and the children).
Praise God! May He continue to work in their family.
++ Our theme for February is “Faith”. PRAY for one woman who responded to
the message- PRAY that she will think seriously about what was said. We
have not given up on her and certainly God has not.
++ PRAISE – We asked three of the prisoners to lead the singing the next
week. They did a great job and when asked to do it again they said yes.
Note: Three women did something for Jesus in front of the other prisoners
- WOW!
++ The group continues to meet at 8AM for devotions together – three weeks
now. Pray that they will focus on God’s Word and not be led astray by
the differences in beliefs taught by groups that visit the prison.
++ One woman’s 12-yr-old sister was killed in what appears to be a quest
for vengeance. Pray that God will comfort the family and that this tragic
death may cause them to seek God and find life in Him.
++ PRAY for a woman who is struggling to forgive the one who slashed her
face. Every time she sees her, the resentment surges up in her. Thank
God that she talked about it with our team.
++ PRAY as we consider whether to expand the ministry of Voices of Hope
into the men’s prison. There are several possible connections in place.
Ask God to call men to go, if this is where He is leading.
++ PRAY for God’s guidance in following up with families and prisoners
when they are released. PRAY for our team members – the problems are
overwhelming, but nothing is impossible with God.
<> CUENCA
++ Dr Hal Kime continues to perform surgery and see patients each
Wednesday at the Abundant Life Foundation in the Upper Room Church.
PRAISE for the opportunities to share the love of God with patients.
++ David Small presented a workshop for doctors at SOLCA Hospital on
“Palliative Care for Cancer Patients.” – dealing with physical, mental
and spiritual aspects of care. PRAISE that the workshop was a big success.
<> CUENCA – House churches
++ PRAISE for the house church that meets at Luis and Elida’s home.
Eighteen gathered on Sunday to worship and study the Word. Pray that more
house churches are initiated in this city of 12 million people.
++ PRAY that God might comfort a husband and wife and their daughter as
they mourn the loss of their baby a week before birth. PRAY for peace and
acceptance to enter into their hearts.
++ PRAY for a 12 year old daughter, that she might dedicate her life to
the Lord and be guided by His will for her future.
<> SARAGURO –
++ PRAY for Good Shepherd Radio and the new director, Luz Gualan. ASK God
to guide them in unity as they broadcast the Gospel to listeners.
++ PRAY for the baptism to be held at the river this weekend. PRAY that
the service will bring Glory to God PRAY that those who are baptized might
become strong in their faith and witness.
++ Recently Oscar completed alcohol rehabilitation and found new life in
Christ. Pray that he will grow strong in his new faith and become a part
of the Good Shepherd church family.
++ Veronica is a young woman teaching children’s bible classes in Tenta.
Pray for her, the children and the church there.
++. Pastor Miguel has many pressures as he leads the Loved by God church
and the foundation while studying and running his shoe repair business.
Pray for his health and reliance on God.
++. The Lord is bringing more clients to the rehab center. Pray for
strength and wisdom for counselor Pablo A.
++ Pray for the Loved by God congregation to work together for growth and
carrying out their vision.
<> LOJA – The Gospel is heard on Radio Hope 24/7 in AM, FM &
www.esperanzaparaloja.org
<> LOJA – Surprise BLESSINGS at the Chonta Cruz neighborhood party
++ The Grandparents who had been encouraging their son to beat his kids
and complaining that we were a bad influence, came to the party. PRAY
that what they heard might take root and grow.
++ I invited the vendor lady that I have been buying balloons, prizes and
treats from. I also asked the kids to pray for her. She came – an answer
to prayer!
++ The Sunday after the big event we had 55 people at church for Sunday
morning (Including the dad who has been beating his kids and the vendor
lady), We had so many kids we had to divide the group for Sunday school.

THE ORIENTE
<> SHELL
++ Nate Saint Memorial School ( K-8 school for missionary children) needs
a TEACHER and a PRINCIPAL for the 2012-13 school year. We have a staff of
five teachers with 25-35 students.
++ Each teacher is responsible for all course work for two grades and must
be credentialed. The Principal should have a teaching background. Both
would need to raise their own support.
<> SHAKAI
++ Rocky Black and three others are heading up the Nangaritza river to the
Shakai village (five hours by boat and another hour walking) where the
Gospel was first introduced in 2010.
++ PRAY for sweet fellowship with believers and for safe travels. An

++ Sunday update – Rocky is back home from up the river. Thanks for all
the prayers. Rejoicing over two new believers!
<> CHASKI MINISTRY (ECC work among the Saraguro in the Oriente)
++ TUTUPALI – PRAY for a spiritual revival in the community, and that God
would protect the Christians from Satan’s attacks.
++ SAN ANTONIO – Pray that God would heal Cristobal, who is hospitalized
with a pulmonary infection.
++ PRAY that God would continue to touch lives of the Saraguros, and that
they would become passionate about God’s work. PRAY for the youth, that
God would help them to remain firm in the face of youthful temptations.
++ PRAY that God would provide help for Luz S to restore relationships
with a person in her community.
++ Norma G asks that you join her in prayer asking for wisdom, and for an
intimate relationship with God, and Rosa M is praying that God will guide
her in the work that she is starting with the children.

getting back to cool Quito…and to my sweet hubby that I haven´t seen in

~ Kathy is in the United States, caring for her sister Debbie who is
undergoing chemotherapy for lung cancer.

<> HILL-MERICA, ELLIE – Pennsylvania – (Funding for ministry in Loja)
~ Blessings and thank you to all who have helped me reach my 25% funding
goal. I give priority to my schedule of speaking engagements while I
continue to work an 18 hour week.
- I am scheduled for surgery to repair a torn ligament AND for a complete
knee replacement on FEB 28. PRAY for the operation and for swift and
complete recovery and rehab.
~ I anticipate a three month short-term mission trip to Ecuador during
June, July and August. PRAY for the details to come together.
